We’re looking for a talented Data Scientist / ML Engineer that is a curious thinker and excited by the intellectual challenge of building the fundamental metrics that will define how the world evaluates blockchain game economies. Joining now means helping shape our technology and systems architecture to support our ambitious vision.
Because these games are financialized at their core, everything at Souq is built on data insights. The Founding Data Scientist / ML Engineer will lead efforts to organize, collate and identify key data sources to launch analytics and ML features that power the understanding of these game economies.
What you’ll do day-to-day
- Develop an understanding of business needs and identify data sources and infrastructure needs that support roadmap goals.
- Designing new machine learning systems to power critical analytics that helps players, guilds, and games manage their assets
- Building statistical models for measuring and understanding asset price and game economy movements
- Continually improve the statistical methodology underlying our experimentation platform
- Prepare and review white papers and developmental/testing evidence for model validation.
Requirements
- 5+ years of combined experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a commercial/business setting
- Graduate certificate or degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, finance, economics (or equivalent research experience)
- Understanding of blockchain technology, actively trading crypto or NFTs
- Experience writing production-quality, scalable, efficient code that is easily tested
- Experience in solving business tasks end-to-end using ML (feature engineering, training models, model inference)
- Experience with scikit-learn/PyTorch/TensorFlow
- Expert-level familiarity with either Python or R programming languages
